Exploring the Future of Air Mobility

While showcasing my Figma skills in case study for Memorisely, I delved into researching and conceptualizing designs for BLADE's proposed EVTOL service.

Process

The case study prompt tasked us with crafting the core experience for a ride-sharing mobile application, an industry I'm well-versed in. However, to tackle this challenge effectively, I needed to research  the recent advancements in EVTOL technology, with BLADE's partner Archer emerging as a leader in the field. Recognizing the need to adapt BLADE's current hybrid service model to optimize for this cutting-edge technology, I developed wireframes for an app capable of dynamically scheduling flights based on on-demand trips, powered by AI-driven pattern recognition. For instance, an Archer aircraft might serve an on-demand client flying between JFK and a Manhattan office tower at a premium rate. Subsequently, the aircraft could reposition to a nearby heliport and accommodate multiple ride-share customers based on real-time demand, which would be made available as soon as the on-demand trip is booked.

Outcome

This project proved to be an exciting exploration, pushing the boundaries of my ability to comprehend, articulate, and design based on emerging business models in aviation. As someone passionate about aviation, I foresee myself returning to similar projects in the future, especially as autonomous EVTOLs quietly revolutionize air travel worldwide.
